Crisis Communication

The team worked closely with the client in one of the biggest crises affecting the company in recent times following accusations on social media that the company’s major chocolate brand, Cadbury, was not following strict halal requirements. During the crisis, the team produced several communication initiatives using social media, mainstream media and the third parties to provide a factual representation of the situation. Post-crisis, the team introduced several initiatives to claw back brand reputation by setting up various targeted stakeholder meetings involving the authorities.

Following an intense 6-month engagement, the company succeeded in restoring lost reputation among its key stakeholders who turned supportive. The engagement culminated with the Group’s CEO meeting the Minister of International Trade and Industry.
